FACT! Bioheat® fuel is a low-carbon heating fuel because it is made by blending ultra-low sulfur heating fuel with renewable biodiesel. The biodiesel content in Bioheat® fuel is what causes it to produce fewer carbon emissions compared to traditional heating fuel. Right now, all Bioheat® fuel delivered in New York has at least 5% biodiesel content and many providers are delivering higher blends. These blends are compatible with existing and new high-efficiency heating equipment, so that you can feel good about the fuel you’re heating your home with.
